How to Get Here
La Clusaz is easily accessible by car, plane or train.
By Car.
La Clusaz is about 540 miles from Calais or the Shuttle terminal, with all but the last 40 miles being on fast and relatively uncrowded autoroutes. Our recommended route is via Reims, Troyes, Dijon, Bourg-en-Bresse and Annecy, but those who seek the adrenalin rush will want to travel via Paris and tackle the Boulevard Peripherique. Either way, La Clusaz can be comfortably - and legally - reached in eight hours from the Channel ports.
By Plane.
It has never been easier to get to La Clusaz by plane. The number of routes is proliferating, as the no frills airlines look to expand their services, particularly by offering flights during just the skiing season.
The most popular destination is Geneva, which is served all year round by BA, Easyjet and Swissair from a number of airports in the UK, and is just one hour by car from La Clusaz. Other airlines (for example Flybe) also offer flights from a range of airports, but only during the winter months.
And Geneva is not the only destination you could use. Chambery and Lyon provide alternatives, although neither offer a frequency of service to match that of Geneva.
By Train.
Annecy is well-served by TGVs from both Paris and Lille. It is about four hours from Paris Gare du Lyon, and five and a half hours from Lille International.
Although the trains to Annecy are less frequent than from Paris, Lille International does have the advantage of an easier connection for travellers taking the Eurostar. But the Gare du Lyon in Paris is near Montmartre, and there are worse places to spend a few hours than this!
Whether travelling by car, plane or train to get to La Clusaz, we can send you detailed instructions on how to find the apartment once you reach the village.
